THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE

When I first came to Pelvic Health Solutions, I was experiencing severe pudendal nerve pain. Gone was my smile. It was difficult to sit, stand, lie down or walk. Sarah, one of the therapists, immediately gave me a sense of dignity and agency. Eventually, I discovered from my urogynecologist that I was retaining a lot of urine in my bladder. This too is very painful. The prognosis was to use catheters twice a day or to have an operation. This felt overwhelming during a time when personal challenges were at an all time high. Sarah did everything in her tool box to resolve my imminent challenges. She NEVER gave up on me. The result, my bladder is getting back to normal. The pain is being reduced to a level where I’m able to function in life. There are no words that can express my gratitude for Sarah and Pelvic Health Solutions for giving me my life back! Sarah is truly an angel on earth.

I HAVE A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE

It was time for my annual blood work consult. Everything looked good as I went over the results with my Doctor. Talking with her brought up my prolapse and the fact that I had major urgency getting to the bathroom first thing upon waking in the am. My GP  doctor recommended that I see Gail @ pelvic health solutions. I had no idea that there was actually help for my urgency problem, both urine and feces.

When I called to make my appointment I was told Gail was very booked and that one of the other clinicians could see me sooner. I revealed that my doctor told me to see Gail and only Gail. That information was relayed to her and with that Gail had a conversation with my doctor about me and my problem, she then worked me into her schedule.

At the first appointment Gail and I talked about how severe my prolapse was and went over my options for treatment. She also explained everything about the pelvis and gave me handouts with lots of information.

Gail mentioned a pessary as one of the options and after hearing about it I said no I wasn’t interested. And surgery was not an option for me either. I left the first appointment with new exercises, lots of information and a lot to think about. My prolapse was not going to get better with just exercise.

After careful consideration, a few more appointments and several more conversations with Gail I decided that I would give the pessary a try since it was the least invasive option. I wasn’t ok with having my problem get worse.

I’m happy I did. Gail said it would improve my quality of life and I really feel it has for the better. She recommended a wonderful specialist who knew about fitting the pessary correctly and she showed  me how to put it in and take it out. I’m extremely happy with the results. I really do have a better quality of life. Gail and pelvic health solutions are amazing!

I FEEL SO MUCH STRONGER AND CONNECTED WITH MY BODY

“I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Gail at Pelvic Health Solutions. I was recommended to her by my OB when I was having some lower abdominal pain as well as a weak pelvic floor after giving birth. She is so intelligent and understanding of the body. In combination with her treatment plan and physical therapy exercises I feel so much stronger and connected with my body. She helped improve my pelvic floor immensely. Gail is so enjoyable to work with and makes you feel very comfortable while truly listening to your concerns. She goes above and beyond to make sure you have an overall wonderful experience. The entire staff at Pelvic Health Solutions was extremely helpful, friendly and very professional. This place has a 5 star review from me and I would highly recommend them to any of my family and friends.”

I HAVE SEEN A REMARKABLE IMPROVEMENT

“I was very skeptical of my first visit with Natalya at Pelvic Health Solutions, thinking ‘How could physical therapy help my stress incontinence? This must be a scam.’ How wrong I was! Natalya was extremely professional and explained every procedure and exercise in detail so that I was comfortable – and more importantly, so I understood the mechanics of all of the muscles and the resulting issues when they are weak and/or tight. I followed Natalya’s instructions and did my ‘homework exercises’ regularly. I have seen a remarkable improvement and can now enjoy simple things like taking a walk and laughing without embarrassment. It feels good to exercise again, too! Words can’t express my appreciation for helping to get my life back to normal! My only regret is that I didn’t find you sooner! Thank you again and I’m sure I will see you for “tune-up” work. Stay healthy and enjoy every minute with your family!

I WAS REFERRED TO GAIL

“I was referred to Gail to increase strength in my pelvic floor muscles. I had been avoiding yoga and other activities I enjoy for years due to various embarrassing issues since having 2 complicated pregnancies – 1 of which blessed me with a set of twins. I had a reconstructive surgery to avoid an early hysterectomy. Post-op, things were still not great, but as women we often don’t discuss these types of issues. My gynecologist suggested pelvic floor physical therapy as a potential solution. Since completing my therapy, I have successfully returned to yoga and other things I love without embarrassment! So glad I took the leap to try it and thankful for this special medical practice and their knowledgeable and kind therapists!”

MY EXPERIENCE WAS OUTSTANDING

“After years of being told my pain and cramping was related to my bladder, I decided to choose a different route. I made an appointment with a urogynecologist and she referred me to Sharon of Pelvic Health Solutions. I was pretty skeptical that this would work, as I had never heard of this type of physical therapy before. Sharon reassured me that after a few sessions I would see results. I had six once a week P. T. appointments where I learned to breathe correctly and do exercises that would release the cramping in my pelvic floor. I began to feel better after two! Sharon was professional, very easy to talk to, well informed and conscientious. My experience was outstanding and I highly recommend her.”

PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP

“I have a long history of endometriosis to include laparoscopic surgery, IVF and C-section. After I had my daughter I made nutritional changes to manage my endometriosis which helped along with exercise. At my annual checkup earlier this year my ob-gyn referred me for pelvic floor physical therapy and highly recommended Gail. I was eager to go this route rather than taking medication to manage my pain. I am a physical therapist and have practiced outpatient orthopedics for many years but definitely needed the help of a skilled provider. I was so fortunate to have Gail as my physical therapist. Her kind nature immediately put me at ease. She was thorough in her history and examination and created a custom treatment plan specific to my needs. She provided extensive education about how interrelated the pelvic floor muscles were to my symptoms and always made things easy to understand. She gave me a home program to do in between sessions and would adjust my treatment sessions based on how I was feeling and progressing. I am most grateful for Gail’s encouragement and support. Many women suffer with pain, bowel or bladder problems and don’t realize that pelvic floor physical therapy can help. Gaining a sense of control over a frustrating and often times debilitating condition is life changing. I would highly recommend seeing Gail for a consultation and treatment. Thank you Gail from the bottom of my heart.”

GAIL O’NEILL WAS WONDERFUL IN HELPING ME

“I am a 68 old woman who sought help with urinary leaking. With back fusion and both knees replaced I usually shy away from any therapy due to effecting my surgical results. I was proved wrong. Gail O’Neill was wonderful in helping me strengthen my pelvic muscles with easy gentle exercises. Through her education I understand why my results are so positive. If anyone is dealing with this I urge you to contact Gail’s Office. You will not be disappointed.”

— D.S.

I MET GAIL AND SHE ESSENTIALLY SAVED MY LIFE!

“My name is Christina and I’m 33 years old. I’ve been living with endometriosis for over 15 years. Over the years I’ve had numerous surgeries, treatments done, and been prescribed many different medications. Even though they have helped, I still have had many issues. My previous Ob-gyn said that I was the worst case of Endo that he has ever seen in his 20+ years of practice. There came a time that I was very desperate, irrational, and depressed. I started begging for a hysterectomy and my doctor said to think about it since I don’t have children, so I started seeking other methods and came across information regarding Pelvic Floor PT. Shortly after, I met Gail and she essentially saved my life! Since starting PT and having her help me find great doctors I have the best endometriosis team ever! Therapy has given me a much better quality of life! These have been the best two years since I’ve been diagnosed with endometriosis. This is due to having more good days than bad!”

I JUST WANTED TO REACH OUT

“I just wanted to reach out and say that your hands are like MAGIC. I am feeling SO much better and haven’t really had any pain since I saw you. I feel like a person again. I was able to help at the fire station yesterday to pack donations and because I am better I will be leaving tonight or tomorrow on the Bahamas Relief Cruise to help people there and bring them over here. This would not have happened if I wasn’t better so THANKS AGAIN! (I am still doing all my stretches and breathing as if I am still hurting.)”

— L.S.

SO VERY BLESSED

“I feel so very blessed to have found such a genuinely caring, knowledgeable, compassionate and experienced professional as Gail O’Neill, PT. I have lived with severe pelvic related situations and pain for a very long time. I have seen many gynecologists who either misdiagnosed, gave me no viable options, unhelpful recommendations, no relief or told me I would just have to “learn to live with it”. Finally, I saw a urogynecologist who diagnosed my problem and told me I could be helped with Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy and recommended Gail O’Neill. After speaking with Gail on the phone and then meeting with her in person, I knew “I was in the best hands”. Gail took so much time with me to listen, explain and help me to understand what was going on and in such a calm, reassuring way. With her extensive knowledge, skillsand concern she knew just how to proceed in my treatment and to instruct me as well. Gail, has gone out of her way, above and beyond and has helped me so very much. I cannot say enough good things about Gail O’Neill and the very special person she is. I highly recommend Pelvic Floor Solutions to to anyone who is in need of pelvic floor physical therapy. I give Gail O’Neill FIVE STARS, PLUS!! and an big Thank You for helping me get “back on track” enabling me to enjoy life’s “simple pleasures” again. I so appreciate everything you have done for me!!”

I COULD NEVER HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT GAIL

“After spending a year fighting and surviving Breast Cancer, I thought that my ordeal was over. Little did I know that I would soon face a condition involving my pelvic floor due in part to all of the chemotherapy and radiation I was given. Needless to say, I had never heard of any of this before and proceeded to be treated by a Urogynecologist. It was necessary for me to have several vaginal laser treatments that were called Mona Lisa Therapy. Additionally ,the doctor told me that I would need a treatment plan of Physical Therapy in order to achieve the best results. I went to see Gail O’Neill from Pelvic Health Solutions. Honestly I was horrified by this entire ordeal but really wanted to get the best possible result so that I would be more comfortable and be able continue an intimate relationship with my husband. Gail put me at ease immediately and started off by explaining what had happened to me and how to achieve the best results. I saw her weekly for approximately 8 weeks, during which time she explained everything as it happened, and even though this was a very embarrassing situation for me, I never could have done it all without her gentle and thoughtful way of handling me. She put me at ease, completely understanding the way I was feeling! It was all a big success because of her treatment in addition to the laser therapy. I could never have done this without Gail!”

YOU HAVE TRULY HELPED RESTORE MY QUALITY OF LIFE

“When I arrived for my 1st appointment in October of 2018 I was totally incapacitated due to a colon resection for a perforated colon. I was referred to Sharon Warwick by my gynecologist, Dr. Linda Kiley MD. having been diagnosed with vaginismus, leaving me with severe pelvic floor dysfunction. I was incontinent, suffered with depression and anxiety and fear! Thanks to your vast knowledge of this disease process, and the many years of experience you’ve had, I am on my way to a complete recovery. Many Thanks to Pelvic Health Solutions & Gail O’Neill !

“After seeing a Urogyno for follow up on prolaspe surgery, I was referred to Pelvic Health Solutions for pelvic pain. Having three past pelvic surgeries( in Illinois) I had already gone thru many therapy sessions, thinking this is just how I have to live now. Meeting Gail, brought me new strength to mentally push forward. She also helped with other referrals since I was new to PBG. Her patience, knowledge & support taught me new solutions that improve the quality of my daily life. It’s still a struggle sometimes but I have the tools now. Thank you Gail for holding my hand and being my friend during difficult times! I so appreciate you and all your staff and … I’m sorry it took me so long to write this.”

My Experience was Top Notch

“Age: 45 – I was referred to Pelvic Health Solutions by my OBGYN, after mentioning that I’d been dealing with an enormous amount of urinary incontinence when walking and running over the past couple of years (to the extent of needing to wear an adult diaper when training for and participating in races). I’ve never had children, and I assumed that this type of incontinence wouldn’t affect me, so I was really shocked when it started happening. Being a trauma survivor, I know that things are never linear within the healing process, and I decided to nip this incontinence issue in the bud, because remaining active is very important to me physically, mentally and emotionally. I was scheduled with Dr. Jordan Alnemer, who is incredibly bright and empathetic, with a tremendous bedside manner. It turned out that I had been bracing my abdominal and pelvic floor muscles constantly for so many years, that I was effectively paralyzing them, and causing them to be unable to do what they’re meant to do. I appreciated Dr. Alnemer’s focus on educating me about what was happening with my body, why it was happening, and what could be done to fix it both in the treatment room, and at home. After several sessions with Dr. Alnemer, my urinary incontinence was almost nonexistent, and I was able to run a 5K with very little leakage. After completing my in-office treatment plan, I felt empowered to be able to continue to care for myself at home, and I am so happy to report that due to Dr. Alnemer’s excellent care, and the at-home self care techniques she taught me, I am able to run again without urinary incontinence being an issue. I would highly recommend Dr. Alnemer and Pelvic Health Solutions to anyone dealing with issues pertaining to the pelvic floor area. From the friendly and helpful front desk staff, to the caring and knowledgeable therapists, my experience was top notch. Thank you all so much for helping me regain my pelvic floor health!”

MY LIFE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY TURNED AROUND

“Gail (Pelvic Health Solutions) changed my life! She was a god send. My life has been completely turned around from her solutions and therapy. I was suffering from debilitating bladder spasms that crippled me for over a half hour at a time, several times a day. My life was stuck at home and staying close to restrooms. After just 2 months of sessions with Gail I am rid of those dreaded spasms and now have the tools to control them should they decide to rear their ugly head again. Thank you Gail! You are the BEST!!!!”

ABLE TO ENJOY LIFE AGAIN

“Good morning Gail! I’ve been meaning to send you an update for a while now. This semester has been going great both academically and health wise. I’ve stuck with my stretching routine every morning and night and I am feeling the best I have since the onset of all this 2 years ago. If this is my new normal, I will 100% take it. Still dealing with some symptoms but to a smaller degree and for shorter periods of time, very manageable overall. Just wanted to thank you for helping me get to this point, I’m able to truly enjoy college again and I’m having the most fun I’ve had in 2 years. Hope you are doing well!”

I STARTED TO FIND TRUE RELIEF

“I worked with Gail for a few months to complement my treatment with a colorectal surgeon. I learned of pelvic floor physical therapy through YouTube while researching pelvic floor disorders during fissure healing. Before began considering pelvic floor therapy I had seen a gastroenterologist for almost one year with very little long-term success. After introducing pelvic floor therapy with Gail and finding a colorectal surgeon who was willing to examine me did I start to find true relief and start to get my life back. A vague discussion of symptoms with a gastroenterologist only served to increase healing time, since I was not physically aware of how tight our pelvic floors can be after injury. Gail helped me understand the mind-body connection to help heal anal spasm, and gave me many tools to help relax, fix my diet, and physically manipulate pelvic muscles to help ease tension and promote greater healing and circulation. No cream, ointment or addition of fiber is a cure in and of itself. While your pelvic floor trauma may heal, only through physical therapy can you fully teach your body to relax and heal from within. ”
— J.W.

GIVING ME THE TOOLS TO FIGHT FOR MY HEALTH

“After 2 years of living with chronic pelvic pain, Gail has given me the tools to fight for my health. I am a young man who was diagnosed by multiple urologists with chronic prostatitis. After taking many month-long courses of antibiotics and not seeing much improvement, I knew it was time to pursue alternative treatment options. I can safely say the world-class care I received at Pelvic Health Solutions has changed my life. The road to healing is not linear and having a compassionate “coach” to guide you through the rough patches is honestly one of the biggest benefits of coming here. No one wants to have or even talk about issues “down there”, but I firmly urge any man struggling with their pelvic floor health to seek treatment and start your healing journey. You won’t regret it.”

EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL IN STRENGTHENING MY PELVIC FLOOR

“Thank you very much for guiding me through my pelvic floor strengthening after my prostatectomy with Dr. Vipul Patel, a world-renowned surgeon in Celebration, FL.  After undergoing a very successful surgery, his office referred me to you for follow up therapy to facilitate my return to urinary continence.  The seven therapy sessions I received from you were extremely beneficial in strengthening my pelvic floor and returning me to a normal post-surgery life.  I would strongly recommend that any man experiencing prostate cancer should select surgery with Dr. Patel and follow-up pelvic floor therapy with you.  I am very fortunate to have had the benefit of two experts in their respective fields.  Thank you very much!”

I WAS AMAZED AT THE OUTSTANDING RESULTS

“My visits to Pelvic Health Solutions, after prostate surgery, were all about working to improve bladder control. After consulting with Sharon, my physical therapist, for 6 weeks, I was amazed at the outstanding results achieved. Between visits, I continued doing the exercises at home, making sure to use the correct muscles and the right techniques as she advised. Sharon was caring and compassionate and worked toward achieving my goal to quickly resume my normal daily activities without the fear of bladder control issues. The front office staff was professional and friendly which made the visits relaxed. I highly recommend Pelvic Health Solutions to other men experiencing a similar situation. Both control and my confidence are back!!”

YOU ARE WONDERFUL, EXTREMELY CARING, UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

“Thank you very, very much for your wonderful help in healing me from my pudendal neuralgia.

As you know, I had severe pain in my pelvic area. I went to 5 different urologists that prescribed anti-biotics for a unitary tract infection. Of course, the anti-biotics did not work. After much research on line I discovered that what I had was pudendal neuralgia.

I searched where I could get help and I luckily found Pelvic Health Solutions. I appreciate your treatments at your office and your great advise on what I could do at home. I also appreciate how you educated me on what I had and how I could heal. You are wonderful, extremely caring, understanding and knowledgeable.

I will highly recommend Pelvic Health Solutions to anyone who is having a pelvic floor condition.”

MAKES YOU TOTALLY COMFORTABLE IN TREATING THIS HIGHLY PERSONAL ISSUE

“For years I suffered from irritable bowel syndrome. After many tests failed to identify the cause, I went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Mayo determined that constipation was the cause, that I had pelvic floor dysfunction, and referred me to Gail O’Neill at Pelvic Health Solutions for therapy. After Gail’s therapy I no longer have stomach aches and have made significant progress in eliminating constipation. She is terrific to work with and makes you totally comfortable in treating this highly personal issue.”

I FOUND YOUR GUIDANCE BOTH BENEFICIAL AND INFORMATIVE

“I am honored to review the services you provided me during my 6 sessions at Pelvic Health Solutions in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida following my recent prostatectomy. You successfully set the tone for our sessions during my first visit, helping me overcome my personal discomfort. Through all sessions, I found your guidance both beneficial and informative. Your explanations were supported by the handouts for each exercise, giving me a reference at home. When I struggled with progress, I needed your openness of our discussions to support the rebuilding of my pelvic muscles. I strongly recommend your services to anyone who is scheduled for a prostatectomy or who may need similar post-surgical support. Thank you Gail O’Neill and Pelvic Health Solutions.

I ABSOLUTELY & WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MRS. O’NEILL

“After having prostate surgery my Doctor recommended Mrs.Gail O’Neill, PT to assist with developing my pelvic floor muscles post surgery. I absolutely & would highly recommend Mrs. O’Neill as she not only is an excellent therapist, but she genuinely cares about her patients. From my point of view with prostate surgery you are essentially dealing with two separate issues. The first is the recovery from the surgery & the second is dealing with various concerns, incontinence & erectile dysfunction. In that light, I would highly recommend that a surgical candidate plan a visit with Mrs. ONeill prior to surgery,& by doing such one would not only learn how to do the kegels properly but also one could gain a much better understanding regarding incontinence & erectile dysfunction. My post surgery visits with Mrs. O’Neill were most beneficial & directed me on a plan for a much more rapid ” understanding ” & recovery. Without her professional assistance, I am absolutely positive that my mental & physical recovery would have taken much longer,& therefore I certainly recommend Mrs. ONeill for pre & post prostate therapy.”

I WAS REFERRED TO GAIL O’NEILL BY MY COLORECTAL SURGEON FOR PELVIC FLOOR MUSCULATURE REHABILITATION

“I was referred to Gail O’Neill by my colorectal surgeon for pelvic floor musculature rehabilitation related to rectal prolapse. I found Gail to be professional, knowledgeable & caring. The exercises she taught me would not only help with the prolapse, but also mitigate the effects of upcoming radiation therapy for prostate cancer.”

MEN DON’T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT “LEAKING”

ROBOTIC SURGICAL REMOVAL OF MY PROSTATE

“I recently had robotic surgical removal of my prostate. About 6 weeks prior to my surgery, the surgeon recommended that I begin Kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor which would help with incontinence from the surgery. The surgeon recommended that I go to a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor therapy. I was fortunate enough to find Gail O’Neil who was very experienced with this type of therapy. Gail worked with me to prepare for my surgery by teaching me variations of the Kegel exercises and putting me on a program to pursue over the 4 weeks leading up to the surgery. I followed Gail’s regime very diligently over the month prior to surgery. The surgery was very successful. I was counselled by the surgeon to expect certain side effects from the surgery which included incontinence which could last for 3 to 12 months, or in some cases beyond. Happily, from day 1, after removal of the catheter, I had no issues with incontinence. I attribute this great outcome to the help and supervision that Gail provided prior to my surgery. Gail indicated to me that most men who have not done the preparatory work which I did, do not generally have the same success with this problem. I highly recommend addressing the pelvic floor strengthening in advance of prostate removal surgery.”

SO LUCKY TO FIND GAIL O’NEILL

“I was advised to start Pelvic Floor physical therapy prior to my prostatectomy. I was SO lucky to find Gail O’Neill. Gail is very caring and knowledgeable and she taught me how to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles. I did this for 2 months prior to surgery – and my recovery from surgery could not have been better. I had no incontinence and minimal sexual function changes. The exercises that Gail showed me took minimal time and effort, yet I’m convinced they made all the difference to my rapid surgical recovery. I can not imagine recovering as well as I did without Gail’s efforts.”

I TOOK MY YOUNG SON TO SEE GAIL

“I took my young son to see Gail to see if she could help address a new found incontinence issue he was experiencing. He was potty trained at 2.5 years old so this was especially troubling to our family and causing him embarrassment in his classroom. We saw several professionals, none of which were able to offer a solution, before considering physical therapy. Gail worked with him to ensure proper evacuation methods, seating solutions, and gave us a “toolbox” of exercises to utilize if he has a problem. We are happy to report he has only experienced a few accidents since beginning this program and that is a huge improvement! We have seen an increase in his confidence and self-esteem since consulting with Gail for his condition. We are so grateful and thankful for your ideas and assistance so he can be independent and happy!”

I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP AFTER MY RECENT ROBOTIC PROSTATECTOMY

“Dear Gail, I want to thank you for all your help after my recent robotic prostatectomy. As a physician who practiced for more than 40 years I often had female patients with urinary incontinence and some male patients post prostatectomy whom I recommended Kegel exercises to. I wasn’t really sure how to do the exercise and usually told them to read about it online. It wasn’t until I underwent the prostatectomy myself and understood the importance of pelvic floor therapists and the importance of doing the exercises correctly. You made me feel completely comfortable and the biofeedback was extremely helpful. I was able to regain continence after only 6 weeks post op and the exercises were helpful from a sexual standpoint as well. I would recommend men who are undergoing prostatectomy to begin seeing you one month before the procedure to start therapy. If any of your male patients would like to talk to me about my experience I would be glad to help. Thank you again for your superb care.”

I RECENTLY REFERRED A PATIENT TO YOU

“Hi Gail, I recently referred a patient to you. She didn’t feel comfortable at our office since you need to walk through the gym to get my room. I explained your clinic set up to her and she felt more comfortable with that. I [personally] came to Gail during my third trimester with my second child, due to hip pain and vaginal irritation. She confirmed my thoughts that this was due to tightness in my pelvic floor muscles. As a physical therapist myself it was important for me to find someone that was knowledgeable and experienced in treating pelvic floor dysfunction during pregnancy. Gail went above and beyond my expectations. She was extremely professional. In just three sessions she was able to relieve my discomfort and improve my quality of life. I highly recommend her to anyone experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction.”

“I am a physical therapist and found myself dealing with some incontinence issues after having three children, two of which were caesarean. I tried doing kegals with no success. In fact, my issues kept worsening. One of my own clients told me about Gail and how much she had been helped. As a very modest individual, I was nervous about the thought of internal pelvic floor therapy. However, being in my early 40’s also knew I didn’t want to live with incontinence forever. Gail is amazing! She helped me understand that my pelvic floor muscles were already tight and needed to relax before I could expect them to contract and do their job. In just six visits, I have regained control of my pelvic floor muscles and am so glad I chose to go to Gail. She is very personable and put me at ease despite the sensitive nature of her work. I highly recommend Gail!!! K.C, PT”

NEW YORK’S GREAT LOSS, SOUTH FLORIDA’S GREAT GAIN

“I am an MD with subspecialty board certification. I had a robotic surgical radical prostatectomy (complete removal of my prostate due to very early low grade prostate cancer). I made it my business to do the research and opted to have surgery with one of the busiest well respected surgeons in the country. This surgeon had one of the lowest rates of post-op incontinence and erectile dysfunction of any I read about. Any surgeon’s office that does a substantial amount of prostate surgery will emphasize the enormous importance of doing pre-op and post-op pelvic floor rehabilitation. I was operated on November 2017 and I had the usual and anticipated incontinence and erectile dysfunction (ED). I was prepared by the surgeon and his staff to expect this during the first year. I was so thankful that my local Urologist directed me to the offices of Gail O’Neil and Sharon Warwick. Gail is one of the best Physical Therapists with very concentrated experience in pelvic floor issues and especially these issues in postoperative men. Although I worked on my own to prepare for surgery pre-op with Kegel exercises, post operatively Gail worked with me and made me realize the variety of ways the pelvic floor muscles move and constrict in order to control bodily functions we of course all take for granted. The anatomy “down there” is really complicated and once you understand this it really helps with your recovery. Gail works with you using bio-feedback in the office so that you actually see that you are re-activating and re-training your pelvic floor muscles correctly. I followed Gail’s instructions over the next several months postoperatively and my incontinence as a result was short lived. The incontinence is almost always correctable with well-done pelvic floor therapy. Gail’s supervision provided through my postoperative period is largely responsible for my good outcome. When the surgeon does the dissection to remove the cancerous prostate, the nerve plexus innervating the penis travels over and around the area needing to be dissected. Postoperative erectile dysfunction is a second problem that good pelvic floor therapy can help. The amount of prostatitis companying the prostate cancer may be to an extent that the nerve plexus is damaged during dissection. In this case, erectile dysfunction may take longer to correct or in some cases may not be correctable. “

I HAVE BEEN SENDING PATIENTS TO SHARON AND GAIL FOR MANY YEARS

“I am a Board Certified specialist/subspecialist in Ob/Gyn and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. I see women every day with significant pelvic disorders, most of whom have never heard of nor been referred for pelvic therapy. It is always a pleasure seeing them after receiving therapy to document their improvement. I have been sending patients to Sharon and Gail for many years with great success and always feel confident in their ability to help my patients. It is my great pleasure to highly recommend them, and to continue referring my patients to them for therapy.”
